Frequently Asked Questions

Is this traffic school certified by the State of Florida?

Yes, Driving School of Tallahassee is Florida State approved and certified by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV). All our behind-the-wheel instruction and online and classroom traffic school courses are FLHSMV Authorized.

What do I need to take driving lessons?

All you need is a valid permit or driver’s license from any state or country.

What is the difference between a Learner's License and a Drivers License?

A learner’s permit allows you the opportunity to gain driving skills with a licensed driver who is at least 21 years old; and that person must ride in the front passenger seat. After holding a Learner’s License for at least one year without receiving any traffic violations, you can get your Driver’s License, also known as a Class E License. A Class E license is a non-restricted license available to those over the age of 16 that pass the written, vision and driving skills tests. A driver under the age of 18 cannot qualify for a Class E license unless they have held a learner’s permit for at least 12 months.
